PROPHET by Irving Amen c

My dear Rose Hecht,
The other night tears came to my eyes
while watching a scene from Gaily, Gaily on TV.
And I was thinking of you--of your courage and
wisdom.
There is a beginning of a Renaissance of
Ben Hecht in this country, in England and even
in Israel, where Perfidy will, at long last, be
published soon, with a forward of mine. But
the full flowering is yet to come.
The enclosed perfume is just a token of
[[Winnie's?]] and my own warm feelings and
abiding friendship.
Please accept our best wishes for a
consoling and creative New Year.
Cordially,
S Merlin
