Guido isn't listed and the Haggiag
address seems to belong to their
studio which has since moved and
they don't know where. The final
straw came when I checked the convents,
and even they are booked solid
until October. So I sit here, staring
at my remaining $100 in traveler's checks
and wonder what to do next. Maybe I
should come back to the States, work real
hard & come to Rome next year (never,
never, never again in Summer) -- but,
then, I haven't heard from Len at
all and I'm a bit worried because
he had been severly ill several weeks
ago (another friend wrote & told me)
so I don't even have a job ready in the
States! I know this sounds crazy,
Rose, but it makes me feel good
talking to you as though you were here
because I'm sure you would say something
that would make sense. Up to now, I've
been defiant, determined and oh -- so happy.
