User-Contributed Transcription Monday 15 Left our encampmentat an early hour-- Capt Cooper thinking thatthe hunters might get into theBuffalo range to day -- went withthe hunters & I remained incharge of the waggons in his place-- We had proceeded but a fewmiles before the Indians cameup -- They manifested greatimpatience, and expressed astrong wish for us to turnto our left three or four mileswhere a grove of timber was disernable -- I assented andon reaching it found Col. R &Maj. S. with the hunting party
