User-Contributed Transcription took place & the affair turned out to be a matter of amusementTheir party encamped with oursurveying party & the opportunityof sending in communications wasimproved by those of the latters & ofthe pursuing party who felt thusdisposed -- Cap Cooper returned tous about 10 oclk in company witha Spaniard & one of the American adventurers --Those of us who had remainedwith the waggons were gratified to learnthat the affair had ended so differentlyfrom what was at first anticipated --I enquired of the American if any
