User-Contributed Transcription 3806 South MichiganChicago 15, IllinoisSept. 18, 1954Dear Jack and family:You cannot imagine how shocked, hurt and saddened Charles and I were to hear about Tom. We wish to express our deepest consolation to you all. We were very close to Tom and feel a guilty pang that we were not here during the time that he was feeling so despairing. Perhaps we could have talked to him and bolstered his confidence and morale. We will always remember him with fondness. Belatedly as it comes, if there is anything at all that we can do in memory of Tom, please let us know. Please convey our feelings to his wife, whom we did not know as well. I will never forget the pleasant time Tom and I had at the folklore conference.  May we come over and see you sometime at your convenience. Our best regardsMargaret & Charles BurroughsOr 3-7972
