User-Contributed Transcription clipping of printed articleWelcome, Art Carlbom"WE HAVE too many columns already," is the editor's bleat when approached by another nascent Herb Caen.  But it was a different story when Art Carlbom tapped on the window.  Carlbom, who has been writing for another Marin paper, said he liked the style of the Sun and wanted to be associate with it.  We are delighted.  Carlbom is surely the best columnist in Marin and one of the best around.   His approach is folksy, but there's a lot of keen insight at work.  His column on the Hippies was a classic.  He wandered into the Hashbury, checked the action and decided that in the main Hippies were a lot of young people having a good time and putting on their elders.  Said Carlbom: Anytime a man in his circled word 50's gets all worked up over young people having a good time, then he is in trouble.  Carlbom joins us in this week's issue, making the Sunshine even stronger.Pacific Sun[hand-written note at bottom of clipping]]OI sy, wot, and me still in me forties!   Art
