Dear Brethren
As the Committee to whom the Trustees referred all matters pertaining to the dual relation, which at the conference between the Board and myself, it was understood that I might sustain to the Seminary and the Fourth Congregational church of this city, in case I accepted the Professorship, I hereby announce my conditional acceptance of that sacred trust.
