Dear Jack-
I finish up here Oct
29 at the track. Then i hang
around until Monday and sign
up for my rocking chair. I'll probably
come up to Chicago that day.
As you know it is
very dreary and deadly here to
one with my sensitive soul. It is
a harsh life and I long for the
refinements of Madison & Clark St's.
Ran into Wharton and
his blowsy old lady at Finch's one
Sunday after noon. Never knew I'd agree
with my sister Helen in any thing but
when she said W. W. looked like a
Communist she wasn't justified[?]
Myrtle remembers [?]
excursion that old Krupy[?] looked much
younger.
