User-Contributed Transcription I feel that is true even from my own experience for I seldom speak of my past experiences in this town of my birth.  I too was brought up in a modest home but fortunately my father was a former  De Pauw University student and my mother a well-read person who cared little about social status etc and I may have had little luxuries in a material way but was surrounded by books which enriched my whole life.  My writing contribution has been mainly to educational magazines in the teaching profession, (50 articles) in 7 national and state magazines.  I still long to break into print with the stories I wrote when I conducted a children's story hour on radio station KIRX.   I have been tempted to call on  you but know how involved you are.  I listened to your conversation on Leah Lowe's program and your comments on the Irish.  My fathers family came from a Scotch settlement in Ireland, (County Antrim).  I was disappointed to discover that only two of your books were in the city library.  I wanted to reread The Disinherited and was told the only copy was out
