Description Eastland in the Chicago River, 1903 or 1904. Note the two-toned hull, the three pairs of lifeboats, and the shield logo next to the Eastland. After the 1904 season, the Michigan Steamship Company added a fourth pair of lifeboats and painted her hull white, which included painting over the shield logo and replacing it with "Chicago & South Haven Line" above her name. The Michigan Steamship Company owned the Eastland from 1903 to December 1905 and ran a 77-mile route on Lake Michigan between Chicago, Illinois, and South Haven, Michigan. Postcard was sent and includes recipient and handwritten message.
