Description Steamship Theodore Roosevelt at Michigana City, Indiana, with people standing and sitting in the foreground. The Theodore Roosevelt was a steel passenger and package freight vessel built by the Toledo Shipbuilding Company for the Indiana Transportation Company. Her inaugural launch was on March 31, 1906, and was decommissioned in 1950. The Hawthorne Club charted her for the 1914 and 1915 annual picnic. She ran a route on Lake Michigan between Chicago, Illinois, and Michigan City, Indiana, from 1906 to 1918.
