Description Gordon completed his studies at the University of Chicago in three years, graduating in 1937. Later that spring the MacLean family journeyed to Mexico for Haddon's marriage to Isabel Alvarez Bravo. Gordon met Sylvia Ericson the following year while on a camping trip to the North Woods with Wallace Kirkland. In this series of photos from the trip, Kirkland is seen wearing a wreath of flowers on his head.
