Summary Frederic de Waldeck's lithographs, artist's proofs, and drawings in pencil, oil, watercolor, wash, and gouache on paper of various sizes in mats, folders or plexiglass, and 1 photograph of Waldeck. Many of the works are stamped or signed by Waldeck. Some works have notes or descriptions by Waldeck and others on the recto or verso of the work. Includes works described in Waldeck's unpublished Catalogue des dessins, and works included in Waldeck's published Voyage pittoresque et archéologique. These works capture Waldeck's view and interpretation of his modern Mexico, recording the dress and customs of the people and the antiquities, including Mayan ruins. A variety of regions are represented including Palenque, Tabasco, Teotihuacan, and Xochicalco.
