My dear friend,
"Death in the Woods" - my much loved
book by Regallito is going to be published in
the August number only.
By the way - do you know that poor
Regallito has been seriously ill: pleuritis (in
French). By now, I think he must be in
Normandy. But for many months he has been
very close - not mentally - he is always
mentally weak - Paris for today.
I was offered the very pleasure
to translate a short story of yours -
[[?]] 2500 words - for a "[[?]]"
called "La Revue Nouvelle" [[?]] "They
have an interest in Waldo" 's "[[?]]"
It was that middle chapter called "the
other room". They [[?]] to show you they have an
interest in American literature.
I know they are going to publish a
free paper concerning you. [[?]] I gave your
address so that they might send a copy.
I am glad Winesburg has come to
life at last & that in book-form a
