Summary Illuminated ms. copy, transcribed sometime between 1462 and 1470, possibly in France or Italy [?] of a papal letter written in 1460-1461 by Pius II to Mehmed II, Sultan of the Turks. In his letter, Pius compares Christianity and Islam, discusses the impossibility of reconciling the two religions, and attempts to convert the Sultan by argument and exhortation. Cf.
