User-Contributed Transcription Rosa  August 2nd 1827 My dear Brother   I have sat some time hesitating to whom I should address my letter, but finding a letter written by you and my sister to be the last received, and as you have there favored me with a part I thought it would be an acknowledgement and would avail myself of the pleasure - It was written in Ortes? and received in May (and I had the week previous to its reception written a letter to my Sister which I hope she received) and along with it a letter to Mr Lloyd Kilford and a Parcel of newspapers which were very acceptable   My Father and Mother took a ride last week in a Car to Bangor and left my brother Thomas very poorly having caught cold the day after they arrived, and my Mother has since his return been particularly uneasy and anxious that I should write and request of you not to stay in America to lose your health in a similar way, after being informed of your having an attack of the same fever two succeeding Summers it has created in her a fear (indeed I may add in us all)  that your health will be so much impaired if you stay much longer that you will not be able to reverse it, for we greatly fear it is so with poor Thomas  as the least wetting or damping his feet will immediately occasion him to be so asthmatic and not be able to be in bed at night which was the case when my father and mother were there for he was up most part of the night his prospects for a living are very promesing there if he had his health established;  little Thomas is with us and has been for some months they expect an increase in the family soonBangor, Wales
