User-Contributed Transcription Psalm 84th[sto] Delivered Aug 3. 1794Along society Nov 9thHow amiable are thy [sic] Thy Tabernacles, O Lord of Hosts. --The writer of this psalm is supposedto be the man after God's own heart.It is supposed also, that he composed it,in his exile from the Tabernacle& worship of God, occasioned by theconspiracy & rebellion of his Son Absalom -- In this affected situationhe expresses the pious affection, andbreathing of his soul to God, in thefifth & second verses of this psalmHow amiable are thy TabernaclesO Lord of Hosts -- My soul longeth,yea, even fainteth for the courts of theLord -- My heart & my flesh criethout for the living God -- These ardent desires of the psalmists heart.
