Could we imagineall who have gone down to drunkardsgraves gathered in one assembly andwere we gifted with Super human powersof vision that we might be able to comprehendthe vast concourse at one glance and couldwe as we doubtless shall one day see thevarious steps and the infinite variety ofways by which each individual of thatmighty throng were led down, down, down,to the same awful end and shouldthen admit that it was the heightof presumption in any mortal to deny thepower of this evil or excuse himself from takingpart in some approved measures to guard againstand get rid of it. More than one generation havebeen swept from the earth, and get their childrenfold their arms in carelessness as of nothing hadhappened. They fondle in their bosom the same
