User-Contributed Transcription Hudson, Dec, 1. 1855.Mary:Your letter should have been answered sooner had I not just sent one to Cynthia and I have been very busy. I do not get much time to write, during the week. My health is pretty good though I have quite a hard cold just now. The weather has been very unsettled since I have been here, wet and pleasant, cold and warm days, follow each other like smile and tears. This day is very pleasant, Mr. Most, has just failed in business. I do not effect this will have upon me. I hope I shall not be obliged to change my boarding place. I have not said any thing to them about it as it not a pleasant topic for conversation. I shall not trouble myself about it.
