User-Contributed Transcription the College Chapel.  This morning I received a letter from mother and yourself, thank you very much for your kind remembrance of the absent one. I am sorry that you have had so much uneasiness in regard to my anxiety for Robert. I feared it would be so, when day after day I wrote, but I could not help writing. How thankful I feel for God's merciful dealings to our dear Robert! O, I do hope he is now to be restored to health. Thursday I had a letter from him. He seemed full of joy and hope. He had been writing a business letter to N.Y. city. I hope he will not too soon unclear with business affairs   You say that the news about Kansas seems to promise a better state of things. Do you think the word of those ruffians can be relied upon? Is it not a stratagem rather, by which, they would put the people off their guard? I am very anxious for John because his health is so poor that he cannot endure the hardships that threaten him. But you know more
