User-Contributed Transcription Remsen, Dec. 22, 1877My dear sister, Yours of Dec 8 is before me. Mother keeps it in her Bible and when she has finished her chapters, takes it out and reads it over- so she does with each letter as it comes, until another is received to take its place. This evening she read it before going to rest and asked whether I had answered it. I said no! but I will try to answer it tonight. In looking it over, I find that it has been answered, but for mother's sake I will give it a second answer! I wonder if you so often sigh for a letter from home as mother doesin margin:John Eddie has a weeks vacation now beginning today - He has taken a severe cold and is taking ginger tea tonight and we hope it will cure him. I am taking that graphe in water. I have taken it over a week my hand is a little better but there is a new sore started near the other People tell me I am looking well.  I weighed 118 a short time since. If I was in the city I would have my likeness taken. Sarah has a boil so that she can hardly sit comfortably. Anna is pretty well since coming
