User-Contributed Transcription bead shut-up by day. Taken down & occupied at weight by Kate Porter & myself Lucy Mills who desired private apartments improvised a bedroom out of one corner with a screen and a bath room by the same process in the morning the space between our beds which was, as it were, a handbreadth. Each one secured a chair for a dressing room & wardrobe under which we deposited our trunks. Mary Marshall & Libby Ellis occupied the bed in the bedroom and were favoured with our only mirror which was mounted in the bureau. We had to be very methodical & use in turn in order to avail ourselves of the various toilet-accesories & remove our "habeas corpora" for the benefit of our successor.
