User-Contributed Transcription deers two or three days ago several has been shot around here I have not seen any raccoon this winter the ought to come and see our District School it is a .No 1 school about all the scholars do is fight and laugh and play and upset benches all in school from what I hear the teacher does not keep very good order I have not went any yet school I do not expect to go any because I will get sick, and I had rather stay at home and learn than be sick, the scholars have a fight most every day, they make each others noses bleed when they get to fightin it was such a poor school that Ellwood fetched his books home, The Teachers name is Fannie Dunbar. I guess she will soon be married, I belive I will quit for to day and study up some more things to write
