User-Contributed Transcription I should have gone it with eagerness.The Ottawa, Kansas church of which I have written you is now vacant, but I learned today that they are going to pay off a debt before engaging a pastor. President Plass of Washburn, preached there yesterday, and very kindly agreed to bring me an account of the situation. He says that I have the best commendations of any who have been suggested, but that there will be no action taken for awhile.We have been much cheered by your frequent letters. We think about you a great deal and have intended sending you daily word of our situation, but have failed to do so. Howard is glad to get up. He is a good boy, and tries to make himself useful. He seems zealous in his college work. With love, J.E.E.
