User-Contributed Transcription father. It makes him seem so much more real than he did before. Your letter was forwarded to Gouverneur and as I was there visting in Syracuse it was sent back to me there.  You will no doubt be surprised to learn that I am spending this year in Gouverneur with my friend Miss Myers. I decided I would like a rest from teaching so last June I applied for retirement and came up here to keep house with Miss Myers. Then I thought perhaps I was foolish to burn my bridges so wrote to Syracuse asking for leave of absence. To my amazement it was granted so now I shall have a chance to go back if I care to.  In November I spent two weeks in Wilmington, Del. with Bertha and Marion. They are both married as you know and each has three children, two girls and a boy. Bertha's daughter, Helen is a freshman in high school. Bertha's husband, Willard Sweetman, works
