Everett,   Smith Center, Kansas.Dear Mr. Everett:   Your letter of the 22nd inst., received, and also book was received on the same mail. I have read some of the "Quillings" and like them very well, as does also Mrs. McClure from what she has read of them.  In answer to the inquiry in regard to my Mother, will state that she died about three years ago at Tacoma, Washington. She is buried in a very beautiful cemetery where the grass keeps green all the year around. Last June Mrs. McClure and I took a trip out there to see all the folk, and I laid some flowers on her grave.   Haddie and Lizzie live at Tacoma and are doing very well. You remember that Haddie was married and lost her husband. She has a boy about 14 years old. Lizzie is still single and keeps house for them. They like that country very much. I have two other sisters up on Puget Sound which makes the most of the family up there in touch with each other. Mrs. McClure thinks that the happiest days we have spent in our married life were in Kiowa, and
