In some parts of the state West and South West, there was suffering, both of people and stock.We have had snow on the ground since December 20. It has been thawing a little in the sun for a day or two. One good Kansas day would make the snow go fast; and quite likely it may not be with us much longer, though two years ago we had snow from November until about March 1st, a very unusual thing.I was glad to receive the letter you enclosed from Cousin Jennie.I believe I wrote you of intending to go to Stockton the first of January to help with meetings there. On account of the cold weather the meetings were deferred, so I have been at home. We are expecting
