User-Contributed Transcription 42 Vale Street Denbigh North Wales G.B.July 20th 1883My dear EddieI meant to have sent you a postal before this but my time has been very much occupied during college - all my old friends have been calling to see me, and I have held receptions every day. I think I am continuing again, but I feel the change of climate. I have unclear fire in my parlour every day - I did not enjoy the voyage. it was cold, misty & rainy almost all the way & I did not feel at all well - I had a comfortable state room, but did not care for my room mate, a unclear prim scotch woman. I would have liked an American much better, she gave me the "blues" whenever I was with here - well! I am very comfortably situated here with the kindest people - I hope all in Remsen are well. please give my kindest love to my cousins. I will write to Dr, Mary soonin right margin:My trunks were all rightThe relatives here make many enquiries about you all -in left margin:hope the house has been beautiful, hope your father was well when you heard last from him, write me soon telling me what you are going to do + remember a certain young gentleman promised me his carteAffectionately your cousin J. W.
