User-Contributed Transcription Buttercup Farm, April 4, 1900My dear Aunties:  We received your letter last night, having had an opportunity to send for the mail yesterday, our mail carrier proved very much afraid of getting his horses out when the roads are not all right, while it is very hard traveling the roads are passable but today they are frozen a little it seems as tho he would come so I am writing in faith, he has not been up since saturday.  In answer to your inquiry about sugar would say that you had best not to depend on us, for the snow is very deep yet, no signs of fences except the highest stakes, stone wallsWe heard last night that Mr Walsh had taken a place.
