User-Contributed Transcription Tues. morn I am going to make some calls among the people today. There is a Wesleyan Methodist church near the lake, 1 1/2 miles from the Baptist. There minister is coming Thursday, a new man, just appointed by the conference. He is said to be a fair preacher. There were two minsters of that denomination sat with me in the pulpit, and assisted in the exercises in the morning, and one in the evening. We had a shower last night but the sun shines out fine this morning. It is colder here than in N.Y. and seems more like Remsen. Write me about your plans, and whether you will go to Hillsdale. Hope you are well. Yours with love. J.H.Butler
