and Louise have cleaned quite a little hope to finish this week the worst of it. Robert pretty well, but his spirits are up and down according to the way Frank's letters read. His letters last week were a little more cheerful, but he talks of coming home as soon as the weather is settled here. We had a snow storm yesterday, the hills all about us are white with snow. There is deep snow in Steuben yet. Dr. Palmer was called to see Dave Price one day last week, had to go up the hill on horseback, coming down for the nine o'clock train the horse missed his footing stepping into a slush hole threw the doctor over his head into a snow bank &c &c. I said as I listened to his tale, "I am glad the girls are not there" -- not out loud but to myself. Dave has been very sick and may not recover.
