Moriah, N.Y. Feb. 11, 1886 Dear Aunt Mary;- It has been so long since we have heard from you, that I thought I must write. How are you prospering this cold winter, and what do you find to busy yourself about? We have now been here nearly nine months, and have no reason to complain of our treatment so far. I have exchanged six times with different ministers. At Crown Point I found a lady, a member of Mr. Rossiter's church, who was stopping there for the summer. She was the d daughter of Mr. McDougal, I think. Yesterday I had a call from another of your old friends, Rev. Mr. Jones of Saratoga. He knew Grandpa Everett very well, and has preached in his p pulpit. He is a very successful pastor. Last Sunday I spent at Hague, where I supplied the first year I was in the seminary. They were glad to see me, and I had a full house Sunday. Returned home Monday night. I wish you could come and make us a visit. We should be very glad to see you. At Christmas time we had a tree in the church, and on it were about $20. worth of presents for the pastor and his wife. We have put $56. worth of new books into the S.S. library since we came here. Next week Wednesday is to be our donation. They usually raise from $50. to $75. then. I have quite a bad cough now, but got some "Phos." from the doctor here, and find it helps it. We have had it very cold, ther. 23 below zero, but it is now quite warm, and our sleighing is spoiled. How do you like the work on my type-writer? interesting typewriter face, one of the early models
