Dear Jack:
I just returned from Europe to find your very welcome letter. As one of your admirers, I was tickled to get a copy of The disinherited and wrote to Emerson Price, book review editor of the Press, to be sure to give you a review. He is almost impossible to get by phone because he does his work at home in a distant town.
Thanks for your comments on my work: This month two of my anthologies appear: One is Slavery Since The Civil War (Farrar, Straus, 4.95) which includes some hair-raising accounts by Nat Turner, the insurrectionist, and others of both races. The other is The Negro Since Emancipation (Prentice, Hall, Spectrum Series) covering Frederick Douglass to Elijah Muhammed, your fellow-townsman.
I shall certainly try to locate you in my next trip to Chicago where I transfer to the J.C. for Urbana where I have a daughter, Dorothy, married to a graduate student-instructor in Sociology, and a grandson.
Cordially,
Harvey Wish
