User-Contributed Transcription Anvil. Yes, you're quite right. I think a proletarian literature is possible, I'm getting more & more convinced of it the more I see. And right now I think it may be better in America than any other place. I see the [[?]] and Blas[[?]], too. I don't know England at all, but here it seems to be not so frankly proletarian and more intellectually so, which may be. I think, a weakness when it comes to a straight story.
Your book, before I had it, was in Sylvia Beach's shop. I ordered it before I went away, & when I came back, as it hadn't been delivered, I thought it hadn't come in at all, so I didn't go down [[?]] about a week ago. It seems she thought she'd ordered it herself, & she put it in her circulating library. It had already been out four times when I had it. Now it's back again, & I've got another copy coming. I shall [[?]] anyone I see
