Dear Mr. Conroy,
 Thank you very much for your interesting letter about Mike Gold. Actually, I found your address in the "Who's Who", though I am sure that Michael Folsom, whom I am going to see next week, will suggest that I write you.
I do have a few queries, but I'm afraid not all specific. Firstly, could you tell me what qualities you admired in [underlined] 120 Million, and what your views were concerning [underlined] Jews Without Money a year later? I know it's a terribly hackneyed term, but in what sense did you find them 'revolutionary'?
Part of my thesis will concern Gold in relation to other left-wing writers with whom he had differences of view over the requirements of revolutionary or proletarian literature. I have been in touch with John Howard Larson, and asked him to try to define areas where his and Gold's views converged
