have been prevented - had ^ not the political leaders of the Democracies indulged in the same kind of secret double dealing & double crossing - As Hitler and his gang of cut throats ^ did - At the beginning, most of the big shots were pro Nazi - And  Welcomed Hitler - It was only when he got out of hand - and threatened to knife them, as he did his other enemies - that they began to squeal and beg him to keep the peace. I could cite passages from the book to sustain me in this thought, but this is a letter, not a political thesis. I still have 800 more pages to go before finishing it - But finish it I will.
 It's really hot and stifling here - the sweat is just dripping from me - my shirt is so wet - I feel like I've just come in out of a rain - So
