Ducky Mum and Grandma:
The girls gave me such a lovely stork shower last Saturday evening. It was at Ruth Doescher's house and everyone was there except Margaret Kelly who has recently resigned. The girls had invited Norine Crawford too and it was certainly a pleasure to see her again. She asked about you, Grandma, and sent her love. I arranged to meet Max at the station in time for the 10:20 train, but found when I got there that the guests were conspicuous by their absence and most of them arrived at about 9:00 when they had planned to come at 7:30. I told Ruth that I was planning to take the 10:20 but she said I couldn't get it and that seemed to dispose of the matter, in her mind at least. So, aside from worrying about Max, I spent a very delightful evening. Everything was very tastefully arranged for, depending from the chandelier, hung a blue and white crepe paper watering pot, from the spout of which hung blue baby ribbon streamers–10 of them–each fastened to a gift on the table below. The presents were all wrapped in white tissue paper and
