User-Contributed Transcription and reinvesting that it seems best to me to
hold on in the hope of future dividends when
building picks up.  Fortunately  asinono O C
are still paying dividends, so that with
careful economy I can get by for the present.
I rarely see a moving picture now, but enjoy
chess and library books.  I never read "Elizabeth
and her German Garden" nor the authors other
books.   Somehow the flattering notices of these
repelled me.  One writer I enjoy more is W. L
George.  His "Blind Alley" was to my mind the
best of the war stories (it dealt not with
battles but with the life of the people at home)
Have just been reading his "One of the Guilty,"
which is a sympathetic study of a London clerk
who for a while took up burglary as a profession.
Another writer I enjoy is D. H
Lawrence.  He is probably too outspoken for
the Glen Ellyn library, but if you happen to
get hold of one of his books, be sure and read it.
I surely admire the way you are piloting
your family through the troubled waters, and
doing it all happily, not tragically,
Ever so much love
