Description Writings and correspondence of Slim Brundage, founder of the College of Complexes, which operated on and off out of several locations on Chicago’s Near North Side during the 1950's-1960's as a forum where speakers and the audience debated controversial topics and read poetry. The collection also includes a variety of documents relating to the College of Complexes itself, such as correspondence, press releases, speaker solicitations, and poetry written by the College’s “students.”

Dear Slim:
Received your letter but was not feeling well enough to write. I'm afraid your visit here was not as nice as it should have been but I'm going downhill so fast I just don't expect to be able to do anything any more.
I told the chiropractor about your handy gadget and he got interested in the magazine that's going to print it. I don't expect him to tell me if he likes it or not. It would put him and me in an awkward position if he didn't like it. Hope you get some money from it. I thought your method of writing has improved very much.
When you told me Looking Backward had my ideas in it I thought you were just making fun of me but not that I've read it I agree that Edward Bellamy and I have the same ideas only mine are updated. So now I got the Decline of the West by Spengler like you told me to but I still have to read it.
I'm reading The Wall Street Jungle by Richard Ney now and it tells all the things my mother and I used to wonder about how the Stock Exchange really made the price changes. Mr. Ney was on TV and he predicted a complete breakdown of Stocks and Banks in 5 years. Another big broker predicted 5 years or sooner! This book tells why the market cannot go on indefinitely.
