User-Contributed Transcription 4) Wash down the stove, washed some curtains, but not the beautiful ones you gave me for the living r. They are too beautiful and do not look soiled. Gave her my 2 winter dresses to clean, and loaned the copy of Look that has a feature article on the recent Supreme Court decision on segregation. She is very much interested and holds the progressive view of young Negroes to Do something Now. She was 53 in March. I asked her yesterday what a grand daughter (17) I believe says about it. She said she doesn't talk about it. I've never seen the g.d. but I imagine she is a fine sensible girl. The elder Negroes, at least some of them counsel patience. "The Good Lord will do it in his own way and at his own time."! I have the picture of Lucille and Sally on the church steps. Will mount them soon. All are very good. My kitchen electric clock that Frank gave me several years ago stopped and Cora & Clarence took me to a new jeweler. He said it might need a new motor. Is to call me when done. Hope you see the girls again before Laura goes back. And hope the brother is out of the hospital by now. Enjoyed very much the last opera, Manon Lescault. Next is Marriage of Figaro. Didn't see a human being to speak to all day Easter. But I enjoyed the Philharmonic.
