User-Contributed Transcription 2 I've nearly finished the second reading of the 28 type written single space M.S. She sent stamps for return postage but there is no hurry for its return. To finish answering your 5-23 letter I think your advice to Jr. abt. joining the Navy is sound. He can educate himself for any occupation he is fitted for, and if he chooses his companions carefully he can be a respected, honorable citizen when his time is up. Did he seem to accept your suggestion? Bookie, according to previous schedules, took her family away for 3 or 4 days but brought them back yesterday. They have adopted the apt. landing for their home, so I put their food at the top of the stairs. But the little yellow one is so frightened that he jumps down to the ground and runs off toward Renfro's when I appear. Mr. R. who by the way is showing himself a wonderfully helpful neighbor and has fixed 3 leaky faucets for me, without pay, has found a home for the little white kitten. The little girl of a Frost-proof friend of Mr. R.'s, had a white kitten that got killed and she is grieving so over the loss that Mr. R. has promised to get another. The problem - how to catch it! I suggested a swarm of children could get it, and hope to see it done. Much love Mother. In left margin: Mrs. Mizelle took me to vote Tuesday. Voted for Stevenson.
