User-Contributed Transcription I am very glad that Kennedy and Rodriguez were elected. They are men the Socialists neednt be ashamed of, and that is something that cant be said of their former alderman.  So Pop is in a clean place at last! Well let us be thankful. Maybe it will have a good effect upon him. Just notice if his ears are any cleaner, the next time you see him. What does he say about your moving to Glen Ellyn? I doubt if he ever goes out there to visit you. Hope you went to see The Merchant of Venice. Yes Mr Blake sent me his Easter card and Christmas Carol and a nice letter. He said he had promised to go out in June or before. I told him to be sure and go out when it was warm enough to sit out doors.  Too bad you didn't go to see Mrs. [?] that morning. she would have been so glad to have had you drop in for lunch I am sure. I think you had several hats in one box on the shelf in the closet, but I dont recollect whether the panama was one of them. Sorry I can't tell you where it is. Have you looked in Doc's closet under the stairs? That was a very convenient stow-a-way place.  Should like to see you in your becoming spring hat - or in anything else, or without anything else for that matter. Yes, next winter is a long time to wait, dearie. But think how glad we'll be when you can come! We will keep on hoping at any rate. "Grandma don't drink coffee any more. It don't taste good," she says. She drinks instant postum now. She says she doesn't need anything that she knows of now. Will let you know when there is anything. She says to thank you ever so much.  When do you take the goods and chattels out to G.E." You ought not wait until May 1st as movers charge such an awful lot then. Maybe you can get some one from there to come in cheaper than to get a company from the city to go out.  With lots and lots of love to you both. Mother
