User-Contributed Transcription 2 book is a story of the conditions inside Spain as they have existed since before the establishment of the Republic, then the uprising that resulted in the rise of the Dictator Franco, with the terrible civil war and the massacre of the Republicans by him, and the history of the organization of the Falange aided by Mussolini and Hitler. As I have contributed very meagerly, a dollar at a time, for the past 4 or 5 years to the Spanish Refugees to get them out of Spain into Mexico, France, Africa and the U.S. in order to save their lives, I have been much interested in their cause, especially since their fight against Fascism, Nazism, etc was the first of the struggles in Europe for freedom. Many of our men fought in the Lincoln Battalion to aid the Republic and died there. Germany tried out their war machine in Spain before
