MICHELLE B. LARSON
Michelle Larson has a PhD in physics and enjoys making connections with people through science in everyday life. Don’t be surprised, for example, if you end up speaking with her about rising cells of cream in your coffee or how to protect dark skies through responsible lighting choices! She also enjoys sharing the more spectacular objects of the night sky through her telescope.

As President and CEO of the Adler Planetarium, Larson leads a talented team that is focused on diversifying access to and participation in science, and on connecting millions of people, every single year, both to the universe and to each other. Since Larson joined the Adler in 2013, the planetarium has expanded astronomy programming and partnerships in neighborhoods across Chicago, developed online experiences that engage people around the world, and continued to host the Zooniverse, the Earth’s largest platform for participatory science.
