User-Contributed Transcription 2.
I would like to suggest alternatives:
(a) - Try to engage Rostropovitch to
play the Britten; it was dedicated
to him, and while he is "expensive"
he would be sensational and
draw a large audience.
(b) Engage Janos Starker or my
cousin Leonard Rose to play the
Britten. In any case I shall
contribute the face amount of
my contract for it, $500, if you
desire.
(c) - Postpone it until a year from
July or schedule a different
composition and soloist in its
place.
Believe me, I regret exceedingly
that it is impossible for me to
perform any concerto this summer.
Yours most sincerely, Frank Miller
