Dear Mr. Gordon:
Mrs. Fritz-Reiner has strongly
suggested that I contact you directly with
regard to Ravinia's conductor's schedule next
summer. While she does not know you personally,
her friends in Chicago think you are the
best way to bring my name and conducting
to your attention and to Maestro Kertesz.
If your season is not completely booked,
would you please consider - and bring to Mr.
Kertesz's attention - letters from David
Keiser of the N.Y. Philharmonic board and Maestro
Stokowski, with whose American Symphony I
have just finished a two-year stint in Carnegie
