Description Correspondence, photographs, reports, and publicity relating to the Ravinia Festival, a summer music festival held at Ravinia Park in Highland Park, Illinois, since 1904 (non-continuous).
User-Contributed Transcription time it requires. Do you have access to either a full or pocket score that corresponds with the set of parts that the orchestra will be using. If so I'd greatly appreciate your sending it to me. If this is not possible then I will have to rent the score—for Grofé is not in my repertoire. Please let me know as soon as possible if you can get me a score. I need enough time to memorize it.
I do think that it would be wrong for young people to get the impression that all music "title stories" and "paints pictures" and I therefore want to balance the Grofé with something of substance–Beethoven–Sym. #9 Mvt. II. This is about 10 minutes, would be played prior to the Grofé and would serve the purpose I mentioned.
So much for the concert—Betty sends her greetings and will be with me. I suppose you've received my letter concerning hotel accomodations—any luck?
In spite of everything it will be good to see you in July.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Jimmy
