User-Contributed Transcription any other bad habits do not repulse him but talk to him kindly, reason with him and when he finds that he is considered as somebody he will endeavor to be what he is thought to be. But pursue the opposite course and no reformation will take place.Kindness is the chain which binds natives together and thus enables them to enjoy that peace and happiness which could result in no other way. It is more generally diffused through Christian than heathen lands owing in some measure to the ignorance of the heathens. A poet has saidKindness is wisdom. There is none in life But needs it, and may learn; eye-reasoning man,And spirit unassisted, unobscured. Both man and womankind belie their nature When they are not kind. And they word are kind, And beautiful, and loving like thyself;Thine eye and thy tongues tone and all that speak Thy soul are like it.
