melt the lead, and run the bullets, for their husbands and friends to fight the border ruffins. Within the past month they have destroyed all the liquor in Lawrence. They are not fanatical, but they are determined, that this bane of their existance shall not be sold. Recollect that Lawrence is the second town in size, in the Territory. I have sent you four Kansas papers. Have you received them? I will send you more, as I have opportunity. Will you give some of them to Mr. Turner. The snow and ice is rapidly disappearing under the warm sun, and it will soon be time to plow. Tell Henry I have written two letters and directed them to Lawrence Massachusetts More I should like to write, but I must defer it.
Yours Truly Daniel L. Chandler
Mrs. C. Chandler
