User-Contributed Transcription How do the peach trees look? Did they bear well last fall? Has my mother got any stockings for me? What is brother George up to? Do they have partys in Shirley this winter? Have the bridges been rebuilt that were destroyed at the village? Who preaches in the Babtist church? Are the Shirley mills in operation? Have you had much snow, this winter? Will taxes be as high this year as they were last? Has Calvin Farnsworth had a law-suit with Mr. Kilburn? Does Charley Brown keep school this winter? Is Mr. Farren aware how much he will have to suffer if he comes to Kansas? If he is, he had better come, for the country is beautiful and as rolling as in eastern Ms. We expect a large emigration from the north in the spring, enough to make it a Free State peaceably, though many expect another contest
